ESPHM 2017 Host

The Czech Pig Veterinary Society (CPVS) was founded in 1996 in Brno by founding members MVDr. Marek Žižlavský, Ph.D. and doc. MVDr. Josef Drábek, CSc. CPVS is a non-profit organisation bringing together veterinarians sharing professional interests and specialising in the diseases of pigs.

The primary objectives of the Czech Pig Veterinary Society include:

  • Bringing together veterinarians specialising in the health, breeding and diseases of pigs
  • Provide a networking platform for veterinarians to share experiences
  • Supervision and ensuring continuous lifelong education for its members
  • Circulating information from foreign journals, specialised publications and events
  • Maximising communication with foreign organisations with similar aims
  • Organisation of conferences, seminars and courses relevant to the Porcine Industry

The society also has affiliations with the following organisation also based in Brno:

  • The University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • The Veterinary Research Institute
  • The Chamber of Veterinary Surgeons of Czech Republic
  • Pig Breeders Association of the Czech Republic

As host of ESPHM2017, CPVS is honoured to host the ESPHM community in Prague for the entire European porcine community. We look forward to welcoming you to the Czech Republic soon.
